A tragedy did not prevent evacuees, teachers and barangay officials to make a young lady happy on her debut.
Teachers and barangay officials of Barangay Lumbangan and other fellow evacuees organized the simple debut of Regie, who turned 18 on Monday.
Images and videos of the debut were shared by Nasugbu East Central School (NECS) where the debutant is staying together with her family.
Regie, who is from Talaga, Lemery, Batangas, was all smiles as she became the center of attention that night.
According to the school’s post, Regie’s purple gown and the cake and decors were all pledges from different donors.
The 18 cotillion dancers were also wearing clothes from donated relief goods.
“NECS FAMILY and the people of Brgy. Lumbangan is happy to be part of this very unforgettable moment of your life.Thanks for all the people who made this possible,” read the caption of the school’s post.
The school’s post was shared more than 253 times on Facebook.
Netizens also greeted the debutant while also lauding, at the same time, the efforts of the organizers in putting up the event.
