Traveling around Central Europe is never a bad idea. It is in this region that one can taste Europe’s identity in its raw and full glory, credited to the fact that most of it are still under the radar. And when it comes to finding the jewel in this region, one can never go wrong with Prague in Czech Republic. It’s not just a city, it’s an “entity of some kind,” says famous traveler and author Sezin Koehler. Prague is replete with colonial marvels that all have a fair share of contribution to Czech Republic’s rich history—no wonder it has captured the hearts of famous personalities.

Check out these beautiful attractions in Prague, and realize that there is so much more in Europe than Paris or Rome:

Charles Bridge

This 600-year old stone Gothic bridge spanning across the Vltava River was constructed in 1357 through orders from Czech king and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV. It is believed to have been made with egg yolks mixed into the mortar to strengthen construction.

Old Town Hall Tower

This tower gives the perfect view of the rest of the Old Town, a reason it is considered of the most remarkable buildings in Prague.

Saint Nicholas Church

This famous Baroque church in Prague was built in the 18th century, dedicated to (of course) Saint Nicholas.

Český Krumlov

A few hours from Prague and one is welcomed with a beautiful a castle that bears Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque elements, a huge garden, and an original 17th-century Baroque theater—this is Český Krumlov. It’s definitely one place you should not miss.

Klementinum Library

The largest and one of the most historic complex buildings in Prague, Klementinum Library is said to be the most beautiful library in the world. Many of Europe’s great scientists, philosophers, and musicians have studied and worked here.
