An average Filipino family is spending P2,294.90 for Noche Buena this year, according to a Business World report.
Using the consumer price index of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) suggested retail price list, Business World estimated that the Noche Buena basket’s cost has increased by 3.11 percent this year compared to 2018.
Typical Filipino Noche Buena meals are spaghetti, fruit salad, macaroni salad and Christmas ham. This year, most ingredients cost:

Contributing to this year’s uptick were price increases in fruit cocktail which was 7.84 percent, creamer by 11.11 percent, and cooked ham by 2.97 percent.
Eight years ago, in 2011, the price of these items totaled P1,938.15. This means that this Noche Buena basket increased by an average of 2.16 percent over the eight-year period, the business paper added.
