EXCLUSIVE: Fil-Swiss who struggled with weight loss shares how obstacle race helped her reach for the gold

It was her curiosity and determination to lose weight that led her to loving this sport.

Diana Bühler, a member of the Philippines’ Obstacle Course National Team, had weight problem back in 2016 because of her office job.

That’s when she decided to change her lifestyle.

Bühler started working out at the gym but got bored easily.

That’s when she heard about Obstacle Course Race (OCR) and it made her curious to try it out.

According to the Pilipinas Sports Obstacle Federation (PSOF), Bühler mastered very few obstacles when she started. However, what amazed her was how much her body has changed after a while.

“It was a rough start but she always told herself: Kaya ko yan some day,” PSOF said.

It was this sport that paved the way for her to compete for the first time in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

Bühler shared to The Filipino Times (TFT) that she had an injury during the trainings. But thanks to the help of her coaches and physiologists, she was able to recover and compete.

Bühler was teamed up together with fellow delegates from the Philippines – Jeffrey Reginio, Klymille Rodriguez and Nathaniel Sanchez.

They delivered a gold for the country when they topped the team relay in 1:59:56.

The Fil-Swiss athlete has a message for those who aspires to achieve what she has achieved.

“I honestly never thought I’d made it to the SEA Games but I didn’t stop training. It was a rough journey but definitely worth it. It’s always about the question “How bad do you want it?” Never quit and keep fighting,” she told TFT.
