Girl power: Female pilot from Zamboanga City captures netizens hearts

A female pilot from Zamboanga City is gaining positive feedbacks on her chosen career.

Most netizens say that what used to be a typical job for male workers can now be done by women.

In the Facebook page of Zamboanga City Pilots Club, photos of female pilot Charlene Mendoza is now viral. She graduated from an aviation college in 2017.

“Meet our very own Zamboangeña Pilot from San Roque!! First Officer Charlene Mendoza. She started her flying course and college degree at Air Link International Aviation College 2017. FO Mendoza attended high school at Ateneo de Zamboanga University High School batch 2014. At present, she just finished the First Officer Transition Course in Alpha Aviation Group Philippines and she is now a licensed (SIC) AirBus 320 pilot! Fly High Mam! Alsa Bandera de Zamboanga!” the post said.

“Congrats. U are soaring very very high hehehe….but always remember to keep ur feet on the ground. Ariba! God bless u and keep u safe in all ur flights,” one netizen commented.

“I’m so proud of you Ma’am Charlene Mendoza for bringing pride of our city Zamboanga. Proud San Roqueno here,” another netizen said.

Some netizens said that they are excited to take Mendoza’s flights. They also shared that her accomplishment is not an easy one. (TN)
