Woman climbs over zoo fence to taunt lion

A woman is facing charges after she jumped into a lion’s den in the Bronx Zoo in New York on Saturday, September 28.

Her death-defying stunt climbing off the fence of the lion enclosure as other zoo patrons protest.

“You’re not supposed to do that,” a man says in a video uploaded Saturday to an Instagram account that appears to belong to the barrier-jumper herself.

In the video, the woman was seen taunting the African lion by waving gestures and dancing as if calling the lion to get to her.

She stood beyond the safety barrier as the lion closed in on her by about a few steps. She managed to be scot free after the stunt.

CNN reported that the Bronx Zoo management filed a complaint for criminal trespass against the woman who could have been killed from her stunt.

Although the entire video was just a few seconds, it was unclear how long the woman stayed inside the den and how she managed to get out safely.

“Barriers and rules are in place to keep both visitors, staff and animals safe. We have a zero tolerance policy on trespass and violation of barriers,” the zoo management said in a statement.
