Hoping to raise funds for the treatment of his son who is battling leukemia, a Filipino migrant worker in Taiwan organized a music concert in Taoyuan last Sunday.
Choi Mallari, a 27-year-old native of Pampanga, needs to raise Php100,000 (US$1,924) each month for the treatment of his son Gabriel.
Mallari told Central News Agency that it was last December when he found out that his seven-year-old son has leukemia.

Mallari has started selling T-shirts with a printed word “Lifesavers,” which indicated that the buyers were helping to save the life of his son Gabriel, a CNA report said
Upon suggestion of his friends, Mallari organized the concert at the Southern Taoyuan Youth Activity Center.
Admission to the concert was NT$50 (US$1.62), while the “Lifesaver” T-shirts were sold at the venue at NT$400 each.
About 200 people watched the concert which featured various performers such as a mime group, a hip hop dance crew and music bands of various genres, the report said.
