Teachers in viral caroling video did it “just for fun”

It was their way of buying time while waiting for the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to dispense the last money they have on their bank account.

Little did these teachers know that the caroling they did in front of an ATM last week would go viral on social media.

Cirilo Cansino, the uploader of the video, told The Filipino Times (TFT) that what they did was not intentional.

“Pumunta po kami doon para mag-withdraw ng natitira naming pera and then, dahil sa bagal po magdispense ng ATM naisipan na lang namin na kantahan daw pero ako yung nagfilm and sakto naman na pagkatapos ng kanta eh lumabas na yung pera,” he said in an interview.

The video uploaded on Sept. 4 now has a total of 2.3 million views and was shared 47,060 times, as of this writing.

“Siyempre overwhelmed and shocked. Kasi katuwaan lang namin yun tapos hindi namin inexpect na magva-viral yun,” he added.

The teachers in the video requested to be only identified by their first names. They are teachers Rheyna, Mhae Flor, Mae Ann, and Carizza.

Cansino said they’ve worked together for a year now as teachers in Naic, Cavite.

These four women were singing and dancing to the tune of “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” while waiting for the machine to dispense the cash one of them was withdrawing.

As soon as the money was dispensed from the ATM, they also thanked it with another Christmas jingle.
