Pacquiao launches own “Pac” tokens

Philippine boxing champion and Senator Manny Pacquiao is the latest to enter the cryptocurrency industry.

On Sunday during a free concert in Manila, Pacquiao introduced his own “Pac” tokens, which will allow his fans to buy his merchandise and interact with him via social media.

The token will be listed on Singapore’s Global Crypto Offering Exchange (GCOX). Pacquiao and ex-Liverpool and England soccer star Michael Owen will be listed as private investors, along with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, a member of Abu-Dhabi’s ruling family.

His Pac token is the world’s first celebrity cryptocurrency.

Others who are planning to launch their own crypto tokens with GCOX are singer Jason Derulo and tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki.

In a report from Reuters, GCOX Founder and CEO Jeffrey Lin said they intend to build an ecosystem and not only to raise a lot of money.
