107-year-old woman says the secret to long life is not getting married

DUBAI: Ladies, how’s this for life goal?

A woman, who lived in the Bronx in New York and has just recently turned 107, has caught the attention of major media outlets, declaring that the secret to her long life is not getting married.

“I think the secret of 107… I never got married,” Louise Signore, born 1912 in Manhattan and who recently threw her 107th birthday party at the JASA Bartow Senior Center, New York, was quoted by The Independent as saying in way as it is.

“I think that’s the secret. My sister says, ‘I wish I never got married!’”

Her fellow occupants at the home for the aged say Signore is as strong as can be.

“She’s got no walking cane, no wheelchair. She does all her shopping. She’s awesome,” nonecares.me, a portal for healthcare providers and senior living companies, among others, quoted Signore’s friend, Deborah Whitaker as saying about her.

Signore told Newsweek the only medicine she takes is a pill for high blood pressure. “That’s all.”

People Magazine said Signore told New York radio station, WCBS that while she’s legally blind and takes a high blood pressure pill, she doesn’t let either slow her down.

“If they have exercise, I do the exercise. If they have dancing, I dance. I still do a little dancing,” People quoted her as saying. “After my lunch, I will play bingo, so I had a full day.”
