Netizens react on beautiful Estero de Binondo photos

Photos of cleaner Manila esteros mezmerized netizens.

The once trash filled Estero de Binondo transformed into a cleaner creek through the efforts of Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC).

The PRRC said that the plants cultivated in its riverbanks helped in filtering water.

“The plants along its riverbanks, installed by the PRRC, aim to improve the estero’s water quality through phytoremediation which is the use of plants like Bandera Espanola, Vetiver, and Heliconia which are scientifically-proven to absorb pollutants and heavy metals to naturally filter the water,” PRRC said on Facebook.

The PRRC told the public that it will maintain the clean up efforts to maintain Estero de Binondo’s cleanliness.

PRRC Executive Director Jose Antonio Goitia and PRRC warriors will lead the regular clean up drives.
