Three Filipinas from Zamboanga Del Norte brought victory to the country at the Asia Pacific Arts Festival in the ballet category in Singapore.
Reyna May Venezuela won the gold medal for the senior category. Kaye Salcedo bagged the gold medal in the junior category while Merry Dianne Silva won a silver.
Venezuela said that they did not expect to win the competition because the three of them are first timers.
“Buong akala ko, kulang pa ‘yong skills ko. Pero sa tulong ni Lord, hard work, at support ng parents ko, may naiuwi ako,” Venezuela told ABS-CBN News.
John Rey Rocamora, the girls’ dance coach said that they really trained hard before the competition.
“Everyday kami nagpa-practice. ‘Yong iba nga a year ‘yong preparation but we did it for 4 months only,” he said.
11 countries have taken part in the international talent competition.
