Emirates Post issues 6,000 commemorative stamps of Mahatma Gandhi

The Emirates Post recently released the commemorative stamp of Mahatma Gandhi to mark the 150th anniversary of his birth and to honor the life and times of India’s most influential leader.

Acting Group of CEO of Emirates Post Group Abdulla Alshram said in a statement released on the Emirates News Agency (WAM), that issuing the stamp as a “celebration of the values of Gandhi embodied and upheld during his lifetime”.

“The stamp serves as a reminder of his significant contribution to human development, and his teachings of tolerance and respect are of universal relevance,” he said.

He added that it was already 70 years since his passing but his legacy is still felt all over the world and his impact on humanity still lives on.

The stamp also demonstrates the strong ties that UAE has with India and is also a celebration of the contributions as well of Indian expats in the development of UAE communities.

There will be 6,000 stamps that will be issued. These will be made available at Emirates Post Central Happiness Centers.
