This is how a science teacher felt when he received a gift from his students.
What brought him to tears was when he finally opened the surprise gift that contains a new pair of leather shoes.
It was the mother of one of the students who uploaded the video on her Facebook account.
The teacher was identified as Cesar Punzalan who teaches at the Immaculate Heart of Mary School in San Pedro, Laguna.
The uploader Michelle Legaspi shared the video on her Facebook account on Thursday last week. It was also the same day her daughter Mary Ann Claire Garcia recorded it.
But why a pair of leather shoes as a gift?
In an article from Coconuts Manila, Garcia was quoted as saying that the entire class opted to give him a new pair of shoes since he always wears his old and worn ones. They chipped in different amounts to buy the shoes.
In the video, one student is heard as saying that they were thankful to Punzalan for the lessons he has imparted to them since Grade 9.
“Simula Grade 9 kami, malaking bagay yung naitulong mo. Kaunting bagay lang yan, sir. Wala pa sa kalingkingan ang naitulong mo sa amin, sir,” the student said.
Punzalan, for his part, said he isn’t asking anything in return for the lessons that he taught the students.
The video went viral and now already has at least a million views. This was shared 26,793 times on Facebook.
