Mom’s unconditional love leaves son inspired

DUBAI: Mothers are always referred to as the “Ilaw ng Tahanan,” giving light to everyone. But what happens when they pass away? Some say they live their rays behind so that their loved ones could carry on.

Paulo John Alinsog, who recently finished college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management at Lyceum of the Philippines University – Manila, is living proof.

In his Facebook page, Alinsog posted a picture of himself wearing a toga on graduation day, standing next to his mom, who died when he was a sophomore and was at the same time with him at that very moment albeit by way of a standee he had created for the occasion.

“Sa pinaka magandang kong nanay! Ma, graduate na panganay mo. Sana happy ka dyan sa piling ni God. Ito ang gusto mo, kaya tinapos ko. Mahal na mahal kita,” Alinsog also said on his twitter post.

According to a Manila Bulletin report, the posted picture has garnered 4,650 retweets and 46,900 likes as writing.

“Dine-dedicate ko po ‘tong first step ko for my success, unang una sa nanay ko. Nag papasalamat ako kay God dahil binigayan niya ako ng mama na katulad ng mama ko na never ako pinabayaan at mahal na mahal ako,” Manila Bulletin Online quoted him as saying in an interview.

Alinsog’s photo was an instant hit as various media outfits ran the story.

And for this, he is doubly happy. “Thank you so much. Kahapon nationwide lang. Ngayon, umaabot na worldwide,” he said in a post.

Alinsog has two siblings.
