DUBAI: In what has been an unprecedented number of couples tying the knot at a group wedding, some 29 love birds, all working in this international city that never sleeps, vowed go through thick and thin, saying attitude is not an issue in making the relationship work.
The group wedding was held at the Philippine Consulate General and was officiated by Vice Consul Beth Ramos.
It was the biggest single mass wedding thus far this year at the consulate which holds such events almost every week.
There were moments of laughter – and some cheesy drama, as well – as some of the couples took the stage to express their love and shared the hardships they had been through to consummate their union.
There usually are around 20 to 25 couples exchanging vows at the consulate –of this, at least five, sometimes more, are couples who, in their words, “survived” years of long distance relationship where one went ahead and waited in Dubai for the other to follow suit.
