Resto in French Riviera named World’s Best Restaurant

A restaurant run by Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco in the French Riviera was named World’s Best Restaurant in a ceremony held in Singapore on Tuesday, Reuters reported.

Mirazur, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant based in Menton, was in third place last year.

The restaurant’s menu include salt-crusted beetroot with caviar cream, which is inspired by the sea, the mountains and produce from its own gardens.

In second place is René Redzepi’s re-opened Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Best 50 list of restaurants was started in 2002 and Tuesday’s event held in Singapore is the first to be held in Asia.

The only Asian restaurant in the top 10 was Gaggan in Bangkok, Thailand, at No. 4.
