A ‘heartbroken’ three-year-old Labrador Retriever mix finally found a new home after his master died

Moose earned vast attention when NorthStar Pet Rescue told his story, as they uploaded a picture of him sitting by his owner’s hospital bed in New Jersey, United States last Tuesday, June 18.

He was unaware his “dad” passed away from a heart attack.

Heartbroken, he was returned to the rescue center.

“Moose has now been returned to our friends at Eleventh Hour Rescue and he’s taking the loss of his dad pretty hard. Please help Moose find a new home and a family for him to love. He just needs people to help his heart heal,” NorthStar said.

Eleventh Hour Rescue is a non-profit organization which rescues dogs and cats from kill shelters.

NorthStar then appealed for help to “mend this broken heart, together” in hopes of finding foster care from a permanent home for the dog: “Please help Moose find a new home and a family for him to love.”

The pet rescue center described Moose as “He’s a sweet happy boy by nature.”

NorthStar announced that Moose has finally been adopted last Saturday, June 22.

“ADOPTED by a wonderful family who will care for and love him for the rest of his life! Thank you again to everyone who shared his story,” it said.
