Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana extends her congratulatory wishes to the staff and team behind The Filipino Times as the publication celebrates its sixth anniversary this month.

The ambassador pinpointed how the publication acts as a reliable source of information and how it serves the bridge that links the Filipino community together.

“Over the past years, The Filipino Times has been producing in-depth news, compelling feature stories, relevant knowledge and up-to-date information which expatriates in UAE cannot do without,” shared Quintana.

She also commended TFT for its swift action in keeping Filipinos updated with the latest, relevant news: “TFT has also done a commendable job in informing Overseas Filipinos across the Emirates about key developments both in the Philippines and in the UAE, which impact on their lives and that of their families and loved ones.”

Uplifting the image of Filipinos overseas

Quintana said that beyond the duties and responsibilities of the publication, she pinpointed how the newspaper has become an important catalyst that exhibits the positive, forward-looking image that Global Filipinos have here in the UAE. “Beyond that, you have shown to the larger expatriate community and to our Emirati brothers and sisters the real image of what a Filipino is – hardworking, creative, passionate and conscientious,” said Quintana.

The ambassador thanks the entire TFT team for showing their full support towards Embassy-led activities that benefit the larger Filipino community in the UAE: “I cannot thank you enough for the support you have extended to the programs and advocacies of the Philippine diplomatic missions in UAE, as well as those of the Filipino community organizations in the UAE. Again, warmest greetings to the whole TFT Team! May your informative and responsible voice continue to be heard for many years to come! Mabuhay!”
