WATCH: Indian in Manila fails in collecting 5-6 payments, recites “hugot” lines

An Indian national has complained to barangay officials that his clients have been hiding from him when he tries to collect their payments for debts they incurred.

A viral video uploaded by Facebook user Jonjonkombat Pasion shows the Indian man named Melvin sharing “hugot” lines for delinquent debtors.

“‘Pag lindol ‘di ramdam, pero pag ako dating layo pa lang ramdam na agad?,” said Melvin.

“‘Pag ako bigay [pera], tali aso, ‘pag ako singil ‘di na tali,” he said in jest.

In a report by GMA News, he related that lending money through the “5-6” scheme is the only livelihood he knows in Sta. Cruz in Manila.

He shared that he granted the loan once because he was told the money will be used to pay the tuition of a child. He even had an accident in the area and suffered a minor injury.

But when he returned to the place the next day to start collecting payment, he did not find his client anymore.

“Pag di ko na sila masingil, wala na akong magagawa. Pinapasa-Dyos ko na lang,” he said.
