A former overseas Filipino worker proved that it is never too late to fulfill your dreams.
Michelle Sison, 42-year-old ex-OFW and single mother, became an inspiration to her schoolmates at the the National Teachers College (NTC) after she graduated cum laude with a degree in Secondary Education.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Sison, being the eldest of five children, said that she decided to work at an early age in order to provide the needs of her younger siblings.
Because of this, she put her own education on hold so that her siblings can be the one to go to school.
After years of working abroad, Sison’s younger siblings returned the favor by helping her finish her studies.
Aside from the Latin honor she has received, NTC also awarded Sison with the Gawad Haraya which is the institution’s highest recognition.
