Manila, Philippines–The only Mindanaoan and a son of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), Cadet 1st Class Aldren Altamero proved that being poor cannot hinder anyone to succeed.
Altamero hails from Kidapawan City in North Cotabato. He is part of the Philippine Military Academy Class Mabalasik’s Top 10.
Altamero’s father died when he was 12. His mother became an OFW to provide for their family.
He was a consistent honor student and finished a degree in Bachelor of Technology on Industrial Management. His relatives convinced him to enter PMA in 2014.
Altamero’s mother went home in time for his graduation. He is set to serve as a 2nd lieutenant in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
