DUBAI: Some 26 couples tied the knot and exchanged wedding vows on April 16 in a ceremony officiated by Vice Consul Marianne Bringas at the Philippine Consulate in Al Qusais.
The couples heard advice from among sponsors who, themselves have been married for years. To sum it up, the advice went like this: “A happy wife of a happy life!”
The bridegrooms expressed no dissent on the matter even as the brides were brimming with excitement as they open a new chapter in their lives with their special someone.
Some 25 couples are getting married at the consulate every week, mostly OFWs in their late twenties and early thirties; the same at the embassy in Abu Dhabi.
