LOOK: Four Cebu bar topnotchers reunite after announcement of results

Manila: Not one, not two, but four alumni of Cebu’s University of San Carlos made it to the top of the 2018 Bar Exams. Their story goes beyond passing the exams because they can also be your ultimate ‘squad goals’

A son of a retired general, Marcley Augustus Natu-el placed second with a rating of 87.5300%. Natu-el says it has been his childhood dream to become a lawyer and he is grateful for his supportive family and friends.

He is just a few points away from another bar top placer Sean James Borja of the Ateneo De Manila University who got 89.3060%.

“They didn’t pressure me to achieve, they didn’t push me to do anything. But they just supported what I wanted to do and give me what I needed,” Natu-el said in a press briefing Friday afternoon.

Mark Lawrence Badayos ranked third, while Jebb Lynus Cane was in ninth place. Rounding up the list is Alen Joel Pita at 10th place.

The four went to law school together and the bar exam results paved the way for a mini-reunion for all of them.

The University of San Carlos said it is proud of their students’ achievement, reminding that combining hardworking students and hardwoking faculty members yeilds good results.

The university consistently places in recent bar exams. Its student Karen Mae Calam clinched the top spot in 2016.
