“Maybe I will die fulfilling this dream,” cancer survivor recounts journey after passing bar exams

From being a working student to thyroid cancer survivor, Maria Eloisa Manalo could no longer count the times she almost gave up on her dream of becoming a lawyer due to her condition. Today she says it was all worth it after she passed the bar exams.

Manalo is one of the 1,800 bar exam takers who passed the 2018 bar exams.

Manalo described her journey as a tale of suffering, sacrifices, hardship and faith.

She was a working student when she entered law school but it was on her second year when she was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer.

Manalo said that her world almost fell apart. “Iba pala yung pakiramdam kapag nalaman mong may cancer ka” she added.

And every day became a struggle for Manalo. She recalled one moment when she had to take an exam just after she finished her thyroid surgery.

Congratulatory messages are pouring in on Manalo’s social media account.

In one of her facebook post she dedicated her law school journey to her parents who never gave up and supported her dreams.
