Meet the dogs that helped save lives at Porac

Three dogs, belonging to the K9 Unit of the Metro Manila Development Authority, are making the rounds at Facebook newsfeeds before adoring fans – and for one noble reason: they helped save lives at the height of search and rescue operations at Chuzon supermarket in Porac, Pampanga, which collapsed as a magnitude 6.3 earthquake shook much of central Luzon and Metro Manila the other day.

K9 Billy, K9 Thunder and K9 Farah became instant social media stars following reports they were instrumental in locating several survivors trapped in the rubble.

“These brave (and very adorable) K9s from the MMDA K9 Unit helped in the search and rescue operation at the collapsed Chuzon supermarket in Porac, Pampanga. Thank you for your service! ?” read one post, attributing the picture to Paws&Click, a page about dogs.
