DUBAI: In preparation for the much-anticipated celebration of the 121st Philippine Independence Day, the organizing committee, together with various talents and diverse faces of the Filipino community in Dubai, have gathered for a music video shoot filmed at the Philippine Consulate General grounds on April 12, 2019.

The theme song’s upbeat with a modern pop twist melody and lyrics were creatively composed by the Dubai Musikahan Season 3’s Champion, Exekiel Nuñez Jr. and arranged by Cebuano Ralph Jay Cabusas.

“The song does not only lure you to common themes of the flag or how heroes fought for freedom. It tackles about “Kalayaan” (Freedom) as an individual (OFW), as a family, or as a society/nation,” said Nuñez.

“It is purely a song of “Tagumpay” (Success) because we have already attained freedom, no reason for division or differences; we can be united and just celebrate,” he added.

As the Filipino talents slay big time in global competitions, the music video also proudly presents the emerging gems through the voices of Katrina Casia, Josh Labing-isa, Alvin Pancito, Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes, and rappers Akuma and Audrey.

This music video has also made possible by the multi-awarded and known commercial and short film director Mr. Patrick Fronda.

“I want to emphasize in this video that each of us has the freedom but wherever this freedom may lead us, should have its limitations. I’ve added powerful visuals in this video through the youth and our fellow OFWs for better understanding of this project’s true essence,” said Fronda.

Apart from the video having an all-star cast, it’s also a gathering of Overseas Filipino Workers from various professions through the participation of doctors, nurses, household workers, engineers, teachers, visual artists, choirs, dancers, and fashion designers.

The said music video is set to be launched digitally on May 14, 2019 through the Philippine Independence Day 2019 Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PID2019DNE.

The grand celebration of the 121st Philippine Independence day will take place at Zabeel hall 5, Dubai World Trade Center on June 14, 2019, starting 10 am onwards. (Contributed article)
