Vlogger reveals using photo-editing apps to fake being rich on Instagram

A 19-year-old London-based vlogger, who faked his luxurious lifestyle, revealed how it easy it was to pretend being rich on social media.

Byron Denton, who was popular for his YouTube channel tbhbyron, was seen wearing designer clothing and sitting on a private jet, and whatnots you’d expect to see on a celebrity or influencer’s Instagram.

The catch? It was fake. Denton revealed that all his photos on Instagram were edited using a two photo-editing apps, FaceTune and PicsArt, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

The revelation was made on his YouTube channel, which racked up over 434,000 views as of press time.

Denton said that he was “shocked” by how easy it was to fake being rich.

Besides five people asking if the photos were fake, the vlogger said that he was surprised by how many people took the edited photos at face value.

“[The experiment has] made me question everyone’s moves on social media,” the vlogger said. “Do a lot of the high-profile bloggers these days actually make their way to the top by being honest or do they fake some of it?”

At the end of the day, Denton’s admission earned him mostly positive reviews and feedback. Many of his followers even asked the YouTube star to edit their photos and make them appear rich, too.
