VIRAL: Pregnant woman earns praise for taking licensure exam while in labor

A Facebook user is receiving overwhelming praise and commendation from thousands of netizens for pushing to take her licensure exam despite undergoing the excruciating pain of labor.

Eunice Stefanelle Sibuyan shared on a now-viral Facebook post dated March 18 that it has always been a dream of hers to become a doctor that was why she was so determined to take the Physician’s Licensure Examination.

A week before the exam, she found out that her cervix was already one to two centimeters dilated but she still went on and reviewed for the exam.

Days went by and a day before the test, she started experiencing cramps and spotting which means that she is about to give birth.

At around 2:00 AM of the day of her exam, her water broke.

However, she decided not to tell anyone because she was sure that she will get rushed to the hospital and she will not be able to take the exam.

“Monday morning came, mommy started to have labor pains when she had her 1st exam which is ObGyne,” she said in the Facebook post narrating from the baby’s perspective.

“[E]very contraction’s interval [is] between 15-30 mins. Mommy finished the 1st exam for an hour. When she left the room, she tried resting and [sleeping] while on break, constantly checking on my movements and heart tones.”

She then took the second exam and her co-examinees was urging her to tell their proctor about her condition but she wanted to go on and finish the test.

With regular contractions happening every 3 minutes, she was still able to finish the last exam in about 20 minutes.

“She submitted everything, finished first on (sic) the entire building, walked downstairs to see daddy’s waiting outside,” the post reads.

Immediately after the exam, she was rushed to the hospital of the testing site wherein doctors found out that she was already fully dilated.

She then gave birth at around 3:28 PM, more than 12 hours since her water broke.

After three days, Sibuyan found out that she passed the exam and is now a licensed physician.

“Hats off to my doctor mom! I’m not a hindrance to my mommy’s success [but] rather a blessing from up above. Mommy said I’m a risk worth taking,” she said.

Netizens also flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages and well wishes.
