DUBAI: Pictures of an 80-year-old woman attending grade school have beej dping the rounds on Facebook newsfeeds around the world, with 13,000 likes and 221 shares.
The post, identifying the old lady as Salvacion Flores Nacario “Lola Sally” – 80 years old – comes complete with her identification card showing she is in 11th grade at Fort Bonifacio High School in Makati.
According to the post, which also circulated at the popular Facebook group page, Memories of Old Manila, Lola Sally has six children and was able to finish thid year high school back in the day.
“Dahil dito, hindi niya naisakatuparan ang kanyang pangarap na maging isang military nurse. Pero hindi nawalan ng pag-asa si Lola Sally, matapos ang mahigit anim na dekada muli siyang bumalik sa pag-aaral,” read the post which was shared by netizen Erwin Ylagan who also shared it with The Filipino Times.
According to the post, Lola Sally had a mild stroke in 2016 but this has not stopped her from pursuing her studies
“Ipinagpatuloy pa rin ni Lola Sally ang pagbabalik sa eskuwela para tapusin ang Grade 10 noong nakaraang taon. Saludo kami sa’yo Lola Sally! Sana ganyan din ang pagsisikap ng lahat ng estudyante!”
