DUBAI: Simbang Gabi at St. Mary’s Church in Dubai, which will start on Saturday, Dec. 15, is expected to be packed as has always been every year. But can you guess approximately how many people are attending the mass?

The Filipino Times asked Emolyn “Tita Ems” Bucist, FilCom Coordinator of St. Mary’s Church and here’s her reply: “Approximately 30,000 every night.”

“Simbang Gabi crowd estimate is approximately 30,000. Morning mass was introduced last year to lessen the crowd during the evening but still, even if we have around 5,000 in the morning, the crowd is huge in the evening especially during weekends,” Bucist said.

Simbang Gabi will run through Dec. 23 with the following timings: Morning Mass is 4am to 5am; evening Mass is 8pm to 9:30 pm.

FilCom is the organizing committee headed by Spiritual Director, Fr. Chito Bartolo, OFMCap together with the FilCom Core Team.

The Mass is held at the church grounds and not inside the church itself for safety reasons.
