The street art that will have the Dubai Metro pillars painted with murals is about to finish soon as announced by Brand Dubai.
The Dubai Metro Murals Project on the Sheikh Zayed Road is a part of the third phase of the Dubai Street Museum initiative that aims to transform the UAE’s biggest city into an open-air gallery.
The artists, Peruvian Daniel Cortez and Dominican-born, Miami-based Elio Mercado known as Evoca1, have started painting the pillars in between the Dubai International Financial Center and Emirates Towers stations since October 28.
The project is an initiative of Brand Dubai, the creative arm of Dubai Media Office in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
“Work at the ‘Dubai Street Museum’ is almost complete. Two international artists, Daniel Cortez & ‘Evoca1’ are painting the Dubai Metro Pillars on Sheikh Zayed Road between the DIFC and Emirates Towers stations,” said Brand Dubai on Twitter.
