Car plate sold for Dh5 million in UAE

A vehicle number plate was sold for a whopping Dh5 million (or over P72 million in Philippine peso) in a recently concluded auction in Sharjah.

An auction of distinguished car number plates generated millions of dirhams on Saturday evening, which included the plate Number 7 that was sold for Dh5 million.

Minutes after the bidding began, the Number 7 plate’s price immediately increased from Dh1 million to Dh5 million.

Other 55 distinguished number plates were sold at the event at the Al Jawhar Center for Conferences and Events which was joined by license plate aficionados.

Other prominent plate numbers were sold for the following prices: plate number 20 at Dh1,900,000, plate number 14 at Dh1,810,000, plate number 55 at Dh1,550,000, and plate number 69 at Dh1,250,000.

نظمته "الإمارات للمزادات" وشهد تنافساً شديداُ على الرقم 55 الرقم 7 يباع بـ 5 مليون درهم في المزاد العلني للوحات المركبات بالشارقة . بيع الرقم 7 في المزاد العلني الذي نظمته "الإمارات للمزادات" الشركة الرائدة في إدارة وتنظيم المزادات العلنية والإلكترونية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، بالتعاون مع القيادة العامة لشرطة الشارقة بـ 5 مليون درهم وذلك بعد ان شهد تنافساً شديداً بين المشاركين في المزاد التي اقيمت فعالياته مساء يوم امس السبت الموافق 10 نوفمبر 2018 في مركز الجواهر للمؤتمرات والمناسبات في الشارقة. بينما حلّ الرقم 20 في المرتبة الثانية وبيع بمبلغ مليون و تسعمائة الف درهم، فيما حل الرقم 14 في المرتبة الثالثة وبيع بمبلغ مليون وثمنمائة وعشر الف درهم، فيما سجّل الرقم (55) أعلى عدد مزايدات بعد أن احتدم التنافس عليه بين المشاركين في المزاد قبل أن يرسو على مليون وخمسمائة وخمسين الف درهم، تلاه الرقم 69 الذي حلّ في المرتبة الثانية من ناحية عدد المزايدات وسجل مبيعاً بقيمة مليون ومئتان وخمس وعشرون الف درهم. واختتم المزاد فعالياته بنجاح لافت على مستوى عدد الحضور والأجواء التنافسية المثيرة التي سادت المزاد، وكذلك على مستوى العوائد المحققة ورضا الجمهور، في ضوء الباقة المتنوعة التي طرحتها شرطة الشارقة والتي تضمنت أرقاماً مميزة آحادية وثنائية وثلاثية للوحات المركبات وبما يحاكي مختلف أذواق المهتمين بهذا النوع من المزادات. وأقيم المزاد بحضور الشيخ محمد بن سعود القاسمي رئيس دائرة المالية المركزية بإمارة الشارقة، وسعادة اللواء سيف الزري الشامسي قائد عام شرطة الشارقة، والعقيد الدكتور علي أحمد بو الزود، مدير إدارة ترخيص الآليات والسائقين بالقيادة العامة لشرطة الشارقة، وسعادة عبدالله مطر المناعي رئيس مجلس الادارة، والعضو المنتدب لشركة الإمارات للمزادات، وعدد من كبار الضباط في القيادة العامة لشرطة الشارقة، وحشد كبير من الجمهور والمهتمين وممثلي وسائل الإعلام

His Excellency Abdullah Matar Al Mannai, Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates Auction, said, “We are committed to providing the best services and organizing the best auctions that comply with the vision and standards of all UAE auction partners from government and private entities. And the organization of public and electronic auctions at the state and regional levels.”

The winners of the auction receive a certificate of ownership after the completion of the purchase process in full, as told by Sharjah Police.
