UAE residents can participate in Diwali World Record attempt

Residents and tourists in Dubai are invited to join the city’s attempt to break a Guinness World Record in celebration of the Diwali festival.

This year’s Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, is a 10-day long celebration which has started last November 1 and will conclude on November 10.

On its last day, November 10, tourists and residents alike can participate in the official attempt to break a Guinness World Record for “the most number of people lighting LED lights in a relay”.

This week-long celebration will include Diwali-themed onstage performances, marching band performances by the Dubai Police, and ultimately the Diwali fireworks display.

Visitors can join families and students from different schools, as well as staff from Dubai Tourism, Dubai Police and the Consulate General of India in making the attempt, as told by MENA Herald.

The event will be held at the Al Seef, Dubai, from 5pm to 8pm.
