Bad breath go away.. don’t ever come another day

DUBAI: Some people have persistent bad breath because they overlook the importance of good oral hygiene.

This according to Drs. Wilbert Fernandez and Marvin Felix who practice at Klinika Maharlika, who said brushing and flossing can remove any food debris that may cause bacterial growth in between teeth and on the tongue.

“Rinsing with antibacterial mouthwash could also help your mouth become fresh as it can clean areas in which you missed during brushing,” said Fernandez, adding that constant bad breath is also associated with some diseases like chronic sinus infection, diabetes, kidney or liver problems, chronic acid reflux, and dry mouth or xerostomia.

“It is very important to seek consultation with a dentist for your dental health needs for a fresh and bright smile,” he said.

Meantime, Felix said it is very important that a person knows the why’s and how’s of their oral care.

“When brushing… If possible, use electric tooth brush, the toothbrush has bristles that are designed to adapt to tooth surfaces to better clean it without putting too much pressure on the teeth and gingival tissues. Or, the toothbrush works by itself, just place it in your teeth and it will do its own job without you doing the wrong technique,” Felix said.
