Da Vinci’s 500-year-old painting to be unveiled in Louvre Abu Dhabi

Leonardo da Vinci’s 500-year-old painting will finally find its permanent place in the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The art museum announced on Instagram that da Vinci’s “Salvator Mundi” will be unveiled to the public on September 18, 2018.

“The rediscovery of Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi is one of the most significant art findings in history. Coming to Louvre Abu Dhabi on September 18,” it said on Instagram.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is very proud after they have acquired the famous painting at the Christie New York’s auction house last year.

Da Vinci’s “Salvator Mundi”, which is a portrait of Jesus Christ in Renaissance dress holding a transparent crystal orb, was sold for a staggering amount of $450 million, making it the world’s most expensive painting.
