His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, was overjoyed with the results of the recently concluded Epsom Derby, as seen on his recent Instagram post.
The event, which took place on June 2 at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Epsom, United Kingdom, was the 239th edition of the prestigious Derby horse race.
For the first time, the Godolphin team was hailed triumphant after its horse, Masar, which was ridden by William Buick, won the said races.
According to their Instagram account, Godolphin is an international horse racing team founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The National quoted HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid as saying, “It is not easy to win the Derby but we have won it. This a big race and there is always something special about it. My daughter is here and the horse came from Dubai. I’m very happy. Horses are in my blood. I love horses, and I love racing.”
Masar, who was trained by Charlie Appleby, dominated Britain’s richest horse race after finishing ahead of Dee Ex Bee and Roaring Lion, reported Reuters.
As seen on an Instagram video, HH Sheikh Hamdan can’t help but cheer and exclaim a happy “yes” when Godolphin’s horse won the race.
Towards the end of the video, the Vice President even did a “happy dance” to celebrate their win.
Meanwhile, HH Sheikh Hamdan also updated his Instagram Stories by posting several photos and videos from the Derby.
On the other hand, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid also met Queen Elizabeth II during the Derby.
