Pinoy’s love letter proves true love transcends death

A Filipino named Leomar Tolentino took to Facebook to reminisce some of his fondest memories of his departed girlfriend, Julie Ann Dasilao.

Tolentino also shared his girlfriend’s final heartbreaking message or him before her untimely death. He said that her girlfriend’s mother handed her a letter which she found inside her daughter’s drawer.

In the letter, his late girlfriend thanks him for loving her despite her insecurities and shortcomings as a partner.

“Thank you sa mga araw na sobrang saya, sobrang lungkot. Sobrang nakakabaliw. Salamat sa pinaramdam [mo at] pinaggagawa natin. Haha. I love you, babe, sobra. Pero kapag nawala ako nang hindi inaasahan gusto ko maging masaya ka pa din sa piling ng iba. Yung deserve mo,” she wrote.

She further expressed in the letter that she is thankful for all of the memories he gave her: “Ngayon sobrang sigurado na ako sa’yo, babe. Sana ibigay ka ni Lord sa ‘kin at ‘wag bawiin,” she prayed.

Dasilao ends her letter by assuring her boyfriend of her love for him. “I love you more than you know,” she said.

She died due to a heart attack last January 24.

In times when everything is digital and messages are just sent via messaging softwares, Dasilao was able to leave a piece of herself and express her love to his boyfriend for one last time through a short yet meaningful and personal letter.
