Former OFW in Abu Dhabi now owns crepe store in PH

A former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) based in Abu Dhabi is now a successful entrepreneur in the Philippines, owning eight branches of crepe stores.

According to She Dumilon, not all OFWs have a success story to share, but she forced herself to save enough money while working in the UAE to prepare for the rainy days, reported ABS CBN News.

“Hindi naman paradise ‘yong abroad so hindi ‘yan ‘yong kagaya nu’ng mga tinitingnan ng ibang tao… na ‘pag pumunta ka ng abroad ay yayaman ka agad,” she stated.

After some time, Dumilon and her husband, who were both working in Abu Dhabi, were able to get their children from the Philippines so they no longer had to live apart.

However, due to insufficient finances in a foreign land, they were forced to send their kids back to the Philippines.

“Masakit na desisyon ‘yon na iuwi mo ‘yong mga anak mo, na hindi mo na sila kasama,” she added.

So after working hard and saving enough money, Dumilon decided to go back to the Philippines and build her own business.

Dumilon, who also loves to eat the French dessert crepe, had this idea of owning her own crepe store. And since many stores in the country only sell expensive crepes, she thought of targeting the middle-class dessert lovers.

Eventually, her little sweet idea started to bloom.

At the present, Dumilon’s Crepe Delicious already have eight branches nationwide; and the best thing that happened to the former OFW is that she no longer has to get separated from her kids and family again.
