Father names his son after Dragon Ball Z character thanks to FB vote

Carlos Sanchez, a soon-to-be father from the United States, won a bet with his wife to name their son Goku, the famous character in the Japanese anime, “Dragon Ball Z”.

On January 25, Sanchez uploaded a photo of himself holding a paper that reads, “My wife said if I get 1 million likes, I can name our son Goku.”

Sanchez is a self-proclaimed avid fan of Dragon Ball Z that was created by Akira Toriyama in 1984.

Sanchez’ photo immediately went viral and in less than 24 hours after it was uploaded, the soon-to-be father achieved his goal.

As of this writing, Sanchez’s photo now has more than 1.5 million likes, 175,000 shares, and 79,000 comments.

After reaching 1 million likes, Sanchez uploaded a video showing him holding Goku’s Spirit Bomb with his wife standing next to him holding a sign that reads, “I’m keeping my word. Our son’s name will be Goku Sanchez.”

Sanchez has also created the Facebook page “Awaiting Goku’s Arrival,” wherein he will be giving updates until Goku’s birth.
