From PH to UAE, Super Blue Blood Moon charms Filipinos

From the Philippines to the UAE, Filipinos were stunned as the super blue blood moon appeared on the sky last night.

The rare moon is a combination of three lunar activities and was so close to the planet that it could be seen the naked eye last night.

Filipino netizens took to social media to share the once in a blue moon experience. On The Filipino Times Facebook, Rose Mari Bunag shared a spectacular shot of the moon as it seen in Dubai.

Vivian Belleza, another Filipino in the UAE, also shared two photos of the moon, one of which showed a light orange shade of moon.

Che Rhyl shared a rather humorous photo with the moon with the head of a bald man looking at the bright lights of luna.

Netizens in the Philippines did not let the lunar phenomenon just pass.

“Super blue blood moon – a wonderful scene,” Facebook user Tiffany Isell said.

Neil Duguran took photos on his phone showing a bright red moon in the sky.

Jomari Antimado shared his own photo of the super blue blood moon which, he said, happened for the first time in 150 years.

Meanwhile, Filipino celebrities joined skywatchers across the Philippines to observe the rare occurrence.

Lastly, a blue moon is a “phenomenon whereby the moon appears bluish owing to smoke or dust particles in the atmosphere.”
