An online war of words between Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and his daughter, Isabelle, erupted last December 22.
It all started on Twitter when Isabelle posted a tweet in Cebuano about how her father always “ruins” her Christmas.”
“It’s not that if you have power, you can already hurt people,” she wrote in her tweet.
“The one you’re touching is also human!!!! Not only human but a child!!!!” she added.
The identity of the “child” she was referring to on her tweet was not disclosed.
However, Isabelle went on with her rant saying, “You cannot act like that just because you have a name!!!! Just because you are a Duterte, it would be [all right] already.”
In response to Isabelle’s rants online, her father has also posted on his own Facebook page.
“It’s not that if you have been pimped twice by that person, I will keep my silence. And if your mother would no longer care if she gets something in return, I would not. It’s not because I am a Duterte but because I’m a father,” the vice mayor wrote.
Paolo also called his own daughter “disrespectful” and “embarrassing”. He even challenged his own daughter to change her last name.
“You don’t listen anymore because you’re now famous? Famous for what Belle? Famous for being rude to your father?” Paolo said.
He even added that Isabelle will have to wait for him to die before she can get away from him.
The vice mayor also added that making this issue public and will get a lot of attention and reactions from people.
“Indeed, I don’t care if I get discomfit, I don’t care if I am in the position. You’re my daughter! I do not give a damn about other people if this is the only way you’d realize what you did,” he added.
He ended the post by saying, “fix your (expletive) life first before I will stop (expletive) your [C]hristmas every year.”
