Philippine contestant Celeste Cortesi has arrived in New Orleans ahead of the 71st Miss Universe pageant.
On Wednesday morning, Celeste shared a photo on Instagram of herself at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, surrounded by suitcases bearing her name, the Philippine flag, and the Miss Universe Philippines title.
She was dressed in a chic all-red outfit, complete with a leather coat and fur collar. “This is it, Philippines!” Celeste wrote in the caption.
The Miss Universe Philippines Organization also shared their support, saying “we are sending all the good energy your way.”
Celeste is hoping to win the country’s fifth Miss Universe crown, following in the footsteps of Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray.
The Miss Universe 2022 coronation night will take place on January 14th at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center, with over 85 candidates competing in the pageant.
