Dubai resident Lindsay Lohan commends 24-hour disinfection program

Hollywood actress and singer Lindsay Lohan, who has been living in Dubai for the past six years, commended the emirate’s 24-hour disinfection program and its stern #StayHome measures against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
 
In a YouTube interview on Lights Out with David Spade, Lohan explained the social distancing rules being implemented by Dubai, in which she notes that the emirate “takes it seriously.”
 
“It is very strict here. You are not allowed outside, they take it very seriously,” she said.
 
She also talked about how one person can leave the house at a time and that residents need to have a movement permit to in order to shop for groceries.
 
The actress added that the authorities are currently “cleaning at night and decontaminating the streets.”
 
Lohan said that such measures are needed to contain the spread of COVID-19, and that she gets “offended” seeing photos of people in New York City gathering in the park or sunshine.
 
The actress also opened up about her life in the UAE, saying that she lives in the “Wall Street are” of Dubai. She said that she realized she wanted to live here when she first visited the emirate back in 2008.
 
“I first came here in 2008 when they just finished building the Atlantis [The Palm] Hotel, and there was none of this here that there is now. There was no DIFC, Downtown, Dubai Mall, anything that there is now,” she said.
 
She said that she has been in Dubai for six years, and that she is living with her sister Ali.
 
“I have been here for about six years. But I go to New York a lot to see my family, and I was in London before this,” she said.
 
Earlier, in an interview with CNN, Lohan announced back in 2019 that she will be leaving the UAE to return to the US and revive her acting career. 
“I’m managing my sister, so I want to really focus on me and everything that I can do in my life and come back to America and start filming again, which I’m doing some time soon in this new year,” she said. “And, you know, just taking back the life I’ve worked so hard for and sharing it with my family and you guys.”
