Award-winning actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin has revealed that the total amount of donations that she has received for her initiative to provide tents for hospitals in the Philippines has reached Php10,956,702.98.
Of the Php10.9 million, Locsin explained that Php9,847,400 was used for the purchase and installation of tents.
“Ito po ay nag to-total sa 150 na mga hospitals na matutulungan po ng inyong mga donasyon,” shared Locsin.
Apart from the huge lump sum for the tent expenses, Locsin also bared other fees including Paypal transaction fees (Php213,269.76), essentials and masks (Php191,981) as well as other related expenditures.
“Muli po maraming maraming salamat sa inyong pagtitiwala sa ‘#UniTENTweStandPH’ at sa pagmamalasakit para sa ating mga kababayan. Binuo po ang #UniTENTweStandPH para po makatulong kahit papaano sa overcrowding situation ng ating mga ospital. Sa mga pasyente na hindi nagagamot, sa mga health workers na hindi nabibigyan ng tamang proteksyon, sa mga pasyenteng nahahalo sa ibang mga cases. Iyon po ang dahilan kung bakit po tayo nandirito,” added Locsin.
The actress also stated that while she has stopped accepting monetary donations, she assured the public that she will continue helping and aiding fellow Filipinos afflicted with the disease as well as her mission to assist the country’s frontline workers.
“Dahil nakalikom na po tayo ng ganitong amount na napakalaki, we’re announcing na hindi na po kami tatanggap ng donasyon mula po sa inyo dahil we have more than enough po. Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo. Stop na po ang ating mga online donations pero ang ating pagbigay serbisyo pa rin po sa mga ospital at sa taong bayan ay tuloy pa rin po,” said Locsin.
