Angel Locsin, Kim Chiu lead celebrities supporting Vico Sotto

The hashtag #ProtectVico immediately became the top trending topic in the Philippines and worldwide after the National Bureau of Investigation summoned Pasig City Vico Sotto over alleged violation of the Bayanihan Law.

The NBI accused Sotto of violating the enhanced community quarantine protocols imposed by the national government.

Celebrities immediately showed their support to the young mayor and questioned the government’s move to summon Sotto.

“Hindi ako nag mamarunong sa batas, pero sa opinyon ko, si Koko ang dapat ipatawag at hindi si Vico,” Angel Locsin said in a tweet.

Locsin is a known humanitarian and advocate. She even apologized for endorsing Koko Pimentel in the elections when the senator violated quarantine protocols.

Kim Chiu is among those who first shared her thoughts on the NBI probe on Sotto.

“Like what?????!!!! Yoko na!!!! Ang hirap sa ph govt, pag gumawa ka ng mabuti sa kapwa mas nakakataas ang makakabangga mo, pag gumawa ka ng hindi mabuti kaming mga netizens lang ang kalaban mo at ang nakakataas ay (emoji with zipper mouth),” Chiu said.

“Sayang. May taong tumayo na at gumalaw para sa mga tao. Pinapaupo ulit. #protectvicosotto,” Bela Padilla said.

Jodi Sta. Maria also shared her thoughts on Vico’s situation.

“Si Vico Sotto talaga?! Bakit NBI? Ano meron? Eh yung iba? ? Nakakapanghina na minsan yung mga desisyon nyo,” she said.

“Wala silang mapag initan. Si mayor vico talaga? Kung sino pa may natutulong at maayos na sistema, siya pa kakasuhan? HANEP! Eh nasan na yung nagkalat ng virus sa makati med? So far kasi yun palang nagagawa niya. Ikalat ang virus. Mapapamura ka na lang pala talaga,” Angelica Panganiban said.
