Country music legend Kenny Rogers dies at 81

The country music legend and the man behind the songs ‘The Gambler’ and ‘Lady’ Kenny Rogers died at 81. 
 
His family made the announcement on the musician’s death early morning of Saturday. 
 
“Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family,” according to a statement from his management firm, SKH Music.
 
The Rogers family plans to hold a private service because of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Rogers was also the voice behind songs like ‘Through The Years’ and ‘Lucille’. 
 
He was a three-time Grammy awardee and had collaborated with singer Dolly Parton a number of times. 
 
He announced his retirement in 2015 after being in the industry for almost six decades.
 
“Music has lost the great Kenny Rogers, who has forever left a mark on Country Music’s history. His family and friends are in our thoughts during this difficult time,” the Country Music Association said in a tweet.
