Robin Padilla strikes back at ABS-CBN exec’s comment on his apology

Robin Padilla stood his ground in the face of backlash due to his opinion on ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal, which is now in limbo.
On Friday, the actor aired his apology on Instagram to his wife Mariel Rodriguez and his colleagues in showbiz industry who may have been hurt by his comments.
However, ABS-CBN production executive Ethel Manaloto-Espiritu reacted on the actor’s apology, telling the actor not to blame “the ex-convict in him” for rants.
“Angel Locsin best said it, “think before you click.” You cannot post something then blame it on being the ex-convict in you that overtook your emotions Mr.Robin Padilla. Its either pinanindigan mo misplaced emotions mo or never post at all. Ganun lang yun,” Espiritu tweeted.
Espiritu added that Padilla is deviating the issue from franchise renewal to the labor issues of the network.
“Isa pa, kontrata pala hamon mo. Napakalaki ng per taping day sahod mo. Kung talagang makabayan at makatao ka, eh di dapat pala shinare mo sa kanila ang blessings mo. Lahat ng issues mo, dapat pala nun mo pa pinaglaban. San ka nun? Sino presidente nun? Ahhh. Okay. Noted,” she added.

Padilla took a swipe. “Sa lahat ng mas nakakakilala sa akin sa buong showbiz world lalo sa mga taga ABS-CBN, batid nila ang aking pagtulong sa mga empleado nito lalo sa pangbili ng gamot , libing ng patay, utang na hindi mabayaran, papaopera ng anak na may butas sa puso, etc.”
He recounted that he and the late Gina Lopez had a discussion on the working conditions of non-regular employees of the network.
“Ma’am Ethel pakitanong mo sa set ng ‘Sana Dalawa Ang Puso’ kung sino ang kausap ko sa tent patungkol sa working conditions ng non-regular employees ng ABS-CBN, walang iba kundi si Ma’am Gina Lopez. Mahigit isang oras kami nag-usap, pati ang patungkol sa housing ng mga non-regular employees,” the actor said.
Padila pointed out that this is the right time for the executives of the media giant to listen to the plight of their employees and tackle the labor issues of ABS-CBN.
“Ang dahilan kung bakit ngayon ito dapat pag-usapan [ay] dahil magrenew ng franchise ang ABS-CBN. [I]to ang tamang oras para magpakumbaba ang management sa kaniyang mga trabahador at makinig sa hinaing ng mga tao sa ground.
“Ganon po talaga mga ma’am ang negosasyon sa mga multi-billion companies na may labor issue. Hindi ko naman po ‘yan imbento, may mga kaso po sa korte patungkol sa mga empleyado ng ABS-CBN at patungkol naman sa mga artista na kamag-anak ko, maraming salamat po sa trabaho na naibigay niyo sa kanila,” the actor added.

Ganon po talaga mga mam ang negosasyon sa mga multi billion companies na may labor issue hindi ko naman po yan imbento may mga kaso po sa korte patungkol sa mga empleado ng abscbn at patungkol naman sa mga artista na kamag anak ko maraming salamat po sa trabaho na naibigay niyo sa kanila Praise God pero hindi po sila ako at ako ay hindi sila may sarili silang mga isip at buhay they can join you in bashing me its their right. He added that he will be forever grateful to ABS-CBN. He also left a piece of advice to executives of the network.
“Ang issue dito ay franchise at labor ‘yun ang harapin natin wag natin daanin sa drama,” said. “I already apologized pero kung gusto niyo pa, walang problema sa akin we can run the whole marathon.”
