LOOK: Kris Bernal, non-showbiz boyfriend now engaged

What was supposedly a surprise birthday celebration became a surprise wedding proposal for Kapuso actress Kris Bernal and her boyfriend, now fiancé Perry Choi.
In a short video shared by Niceprint Photography on their Instagram, it showed Kris prepping everything for the Lakers-themed birthday party for Perry.
However, it became a surprise wedding proposal for Kris after a few of their friends came up and gave her sunflowers.

Then they formed a straight line in front and held out the balloon letters that read: “Will you marry me?”
Perry kneeled while showing Kris the engagement ring. The video showed the teary-eyed actress saying “yes”.

In her Instagram account, Kris said she was still a bit shocked by what happened.
“The last 48+ hours have been a whirlwind. I’m still a bit shocked with a mix of so many emotions: excitement, happiness, love, and panic. As exciting as it is to announce, I intentionally set aside time to savor this latest milestone in my life. And, just share once the “ENGAGED” status has finally sunk in,” she wrote on her caption.

As a celebrity, I think its unrealistic to keep something as big as an engagement a secret. I don’t want to make a big fuss about this though it’s been all over social media. The last 48+ hours have been a whirlwind. I’m still a bit shocked with a mix of so many emotions: excitement, happiness, love, and panic. As exciting as it is to announce, I intentionally set aside time to savor this latest milestone in my life. And, just share once the “ENGAGED” status has finally sunk in. The gist: I had planned and organized a surprise party for Perry to celebrate his 36th birthday. Little did I know, a carefully planned surprise proposal was waiting for me, too.
