GMA News reporter apologizes to K-Pop fans for rude behavior at airport

GMA news reporter Marisol Abdurahman drew flak from K-pop fans after her coverage of the Korean boy group ‘Seventeen’ at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Some K-pop fans called out Abdurahman’s behavior when she was prevented from interviewing the boy group upon their arrival at the airport.
Andurahman then issued an apology released by the network to appease the fans.
“In my desire to get close to the group knowing how Filipino fans love them, I had a bad encounter with the airport security personnel who pushed me hard and covered our camera lens several times,” she said in a statement.

“In my frustration, I uttered words which I should’ve not said. I regret saying them and this does not reflect my true sentiment,” she added.
The reporter was caught on camera attempting to interview the group but was prevented by airport security officials.
She was heard saying “Kung ako lang, ayoko mag-cover yang mga ano”.
“GMA, fire this journalist. This is so unprofessional, especially when it’s broadcasted so publicly by the said journalist. Seventeen won’t adjust their schedule for you,” a netizen said.
